A focus on Marketing Planning

This time of year is a great time for companies and businesses to focus on marketing planning, to reflect on where are we now? To think of this as your current marketing situation, customer insight and analysing it.


Where do we want to be? Setting some measurable and time bound objectives.


How do we get there? The strategy of segmentation, ideal clients, targeting and content planning phase.


What do we need to get there? The actions and tactics and how do we monitor the performance? The measuring part.


The key to marketing planning is to just start.


If you haven't put a plan in place previously, my advice is to focus on 30 to 90 days at a time.


What do you need to do to be more visible with the right audiences and intermediaries.


How can you educate those audiences and customers with key timely content, campaigns and communications to keep them engaged with your company.

And, how can you deliver in a way that builds a strong reputation of your company in their minds.


Your marketing plan can and will evolve. However, if there is no plan with key milestones in place, you will find that most of the marketing ideas you wanted to achieve, get either delayed or don't actually come to fruition.


It's nearly December, with a blank canvas what can you plan for 2022 with data and customer insights, with relevant channels for your audiences, for visibility, and with targeted campaigns?
